Binqing Fu
Dr. Binqing Fu is now a professor and PI at the University of Science and Technology of China. Her research centers on both fundamental and translational studies of uterine natural killer (NK) cells. Key discoveries include elucidating the immune regulation of decidual NK cells and their important role in promoting embryonic development. Translationally, she has developed a non-invasive diagnostic technology utilizing menstrual blood and a human decidua-like NK cell induction protocol for unexplained recurrent miscarriage/infertility. She initiated the world's first clinical trial of intrauterine transferring of decidual-like NK cells for treating infertility. Besides, she also uncovered the pathological roles of NK cells in triggering offspring neurodevelopmental disorders/autism, with proposed therapeutic targets such as Granzyme B (GzmB), opening up a new avenue by intervening in the maternal immune response during pregnancy to regulate the neurodevelopment of the offspring.
