Francesca Reggiani
Dr Francesca Reggiani (Ph.D.) is a Junior Principal Investigator at the Translational Research Department of AUSL-IRCCS of Reggio Emilia, Italy.
She graduated in Animal Biotechnology at the University of Bologna and completed her research training abroad in different Austria- and UK-based research centers. She moved back to Italy and obtained her PhD in Molecular Oncology at the European Institute of Oncology (IEO) in Milan. Then, she joined as a Postdoctoral Fellow the Translational Research Department at AUSL-IRCCS of Reggio Emilia in 2018. There, she won two Fondazione Umberto Veronesi Fellowships focusing on the epigenetic reprogramming of Natural Killer (NK) cells in breast cancer. In 2023, she won the prestigious My First AIRC Grant (MFAG) that allowed her to start her own research group on tumor innate immunity. Her main research interests involve the molecular profiling of the immune microenvironment with a focus on translational application in breast cancer patients. She is currently coordinating the Cancer Immunology Unit within the Translational Research Department, and she is fully supported by AIRC (MFAG), MUR (FIS2), and Institutional funding.
